CO2 Scrubbers
Storage Control Systems, Inc. has long been a producer of efficient Carbon Dioxide Scrubbers for CO2 control inside Controlled Atmosphere apple warehouse storage rooms.
The SeriesII models feature new formulated activated carbon, cylindrical beds, Smart CO2 detection, and an 8” flat-panel color touchscreen. The operator interface allows for easy programming of unique facility room #’s, CO2 concentrations for peak performance scrub and purge times, background timing defaults, CO2 scrub cycle history, log of CO2 levels, history of cycles per day on a room, scrubber test mode, and alarms.
This scrubber uses similar principles our previous two bed design used in the successful series of the 6006-8008XP. Using this design we achieve virtually continual scrubbing on the CA rooms. One main advantage of this is smaller piping to the rooms.
Scrubbing is a closed circuit between the CA room and the scrubber itself. 4", 6”, or 8” PVC mains are are typically used for the main suction and discharge lines. 3" – 6” PVC is used for transition in and out of the room. Valving at each room can be manual slide valves, but are usually electric valves to enable the CO2 control function that the scrubber PLC offers.
Five different models of the Series II SmartScrubbers are available to meet the needs of a variety of storage applications. The larger the scrubber, the larger the PVC pipe size.
