CO2 Scrubbers
Storage Control Systems, Inc. has long been a producer of efficient Carbon Dioxide Scrubbers for CO2 control of Controlled Atmosphere apple storage/ warehouse rooms.
The Series III models have built upon the overwhelming success of the Series II models, featuring new formulated activated carbon, cylindrical beds, Smart CO2 detection, and an 8” flat-panel color touchscreen with PLC software developed, and for use solely by, Storage Control.
The operator interface allows for easy programming of unique facility room numbers, CO2 concentrations for peak performance scrub and purge times, background timing defaults, CO2 scrub cycle history, log of CO2 levels, history of cycles per day on a room, % scrubber capacity, Variable Speed Drive outputs, scrubber test mode and alarms.
This unique design allows for virtually continuous scrubbing on the CA rooms while achieving low CO2 levels coupled with ULO conditions. This twin bed design also allows for smaller piping to the rooms, which can translate into less installation expense.
Scrubbing is a closed circuit between the CA room and the scrubber. Depending on scrubber size, 4" to 8” pvc is typically used for the main suction and discharge lines and 3" to 6” pvc is used for transition in and out of the room. Room valves are usually electric, but can also be manual slide or butterfly valves. SCS offers various size scrubbers to match the needs of any size storage.
