New CO2/O2 Gas Analyzers!
One of the new dual gas analyzers Storage Control is offering this year is the GCS 250. The unit combines Oxygen and Carbon Dioxide readings in one easy-to-use handheld package.
This unit features a backlit LCD, perfect for low-light situations. Using a longer life electrochemical Oxygen sensor, zero-calibration is extremely stable and the reading-in air is adjustable with the face-mounted span control. The carbon dioxide is measured using a miniature infrared sensor that is highly stable and requires no routine calibration.
Features: Rechargeable battery, Stable CO2, Long-Life O2 sensor, Electric Pump, Portable, Reliable and most of all simple to operate.
Series II Carbon Dioxide Scrubber
Storage
Control Systems, Inc. has been continually improving the Series II scrubber
since
it’s
original design in 2004. The 2007 version offers more scrubbing capacity,
an updated PLC program, O2 as well as CO2 control, variable speed drives,
and other special features which set it apart from any and all competition.
We are the leading manufacturer of CO2 scrubbers in North America and we are
also gaining market share abroad.
In 2007 we are moving further with the PLC technology and integrating along a MODBUS communication line capable of controlling the Permea N2 generator purity and also monitoring temperatures in the CA rooms. All this technology is then displayed locally or on the internet for remote viewing from anywhere.
CA Laboratories
In 2006 we designed and installed ICA instrumentation for apple research facilities in Canada. Two laboratories, located at the University of Guelph and at the Norfolk Fruit Growers’ Association, have capabilities to perform various gas concentration experiments on small lots of fruits at several different temperatures.
The
University’s system has 24 chambers that hold 6 bushels of fruit each.
They also have the capability of flowing six different gas concentrations
to an additional 30 smaller ¼ bushel containers. All the chambers can
be placed in any of four cold rooms so flexibility of temperature can aid
in the research. The Norfolk lab has 32 chambers that hold 12 bushels each.
Their chambers are placed in either of two cold rooms to offer the same gas
experiment at different temperatures. Both systems have sample lines and pumps
to draw the sample to a central analyzer, but then the sample is returned
back to the chamber. Setpoints are automatically controlled; O2 venting or
flushing and CO2 flushing or adding.
Dr. Jennifer DeEll, a scientist for the Ontario government, heads up the teams at both locations. She is instrumental in dictating storage regimes and 1-MCP treatments on various apple cultivars and other perishables.
Worlds Largest Scrubber
Storage Control Systems, Inc. is proud to announce that our west coast partner,
Doubl-Kold of Yakima, Washington, has accomplished a great feat. SCS and DK
have collaborated in engineering and fabricating the largest scrubbers in
the World. At Columbia Reach in Yakima we are controlling CO2 on over 18,000
tons of fruit. Doubl-Kold has added value to their business since 2005 by
offering complete installation packages of Refrigeration and CA equipment.
