Prism Pressure
Presenting an efficient solution for CA operators using SmartFresh or trying to simply hold Oxygen levels down to ULO limits. The solution is to prevent outside air (21% Oxygen) from entering the sealed room. With the new Prism Pressure machine, a positive pressure of low oxygen nitrogen is continually pumped into the storage areas maintaining a positive pressure on all the CA rooms.
How it works: The air that we breathe contains 78% nitrogen, 21% oxygen and 1% other gases. The PRISM Membrane System uses this unlimited supply of raw material to produce specific purities of nitrogen.
Selective permeation is the general principle behind the membrane system. Each gas has a characteristic permeation rate that is a function of its ability to dissolve and diffuse through a membrane. This characteristic allows “fast gases” such as oxygen to be separated from “slow gases” such as nitrogen.
This low purity Nitrogen gas is just enough to pressurize the rooms and not allow Oxygen infiltration to be a factor. O2 levels can be maintained lower than ever before in somewhat leaky rooms.
The technology that allows this new type of generator is a break through in oil-less air compressors. We can effectively and efficiently accomplish our mission of pressurizing the CA rooms with just enough N2 purity using only 2 or 3 kw. The system is a simplified version of the popular Permea Nitrogen Generators that before used high pressurea and high kw. Fewer components allow for minimal maintenance and affordable price
