Storage Control Custom Built Doors
The technology of building CA doors like airplanes comes from Caryl Schaefer, the founder of Storage Control Systems. His first doors were built in 1981 for a local grower. Since that time we have sold over 1750 doors, serving North and South America. Aluminum Aircraft Riveted Controlled Atmosphere Seal Doors are the most popular solution to access for sealing. Made of high-quality aluminum and constructed with hardened bucked aircraft rivets, these doors are built for the life of a CA room. These non-insulated, lightweight doors are very easy to put in place and attach with your choice of fastening options: SCS clip and wingnut combination or a turn buckle arrangement. Standard doors are mounted from the inside of the room onto an aluminum angle jam cover which is included with the door. This angle has the foam rubber gasket attached to it. Other mounting options or custom arrangements are available.
Door options include a 2' x 3' clear lexan window which can be concave for additional upward room viewing, a 6" access port, a 2" female pipe fitting, and an optional 1/2" drain at the bottom of the door. Doors are held in the frame by a clip or turnbuckle. No grease is needed for the door to seal due to a pump up floor seal.
The doors are typically made-to-order. The rough opening can be either steel, panel, or wood. The doors usually mount from the inside and can be suspended on a track for easy moving

Salco Doors
Salco gas-tight doors are made to fit a variety of installation criteria. Doors may be mounted on a sliding rail, as pictured to the right. Or, they may be mounted to open vertically on overhead rails, as pictured below.
Salco gas-tight doors incorporate a unique inflatable seal consisting of two parts: an inflatable continuous rubber inner seal and a protective, flexible outside which presses against the floor and walls because of the inflated inner seal. In this way, excellent sealing all around is created. Because of air pressure and flexibility, the sealing profile follows any irregularities of the wall or floor.
A manometer is integrated into the door for checking pump pressure as the seal is inflated.
GUARANTEE: Salco will guarantee the gas-tight system for as long as five years.
